hi, i think you ought to inform what is at stake with your contest so people get to encourage to join.
this is just an observation and not an affront to your religious belief... I just find it a bit uncomfortable to see the site peppered with your religious insignia, what I mean to say perhaps the contest will be much more appropriate in a site where it is more neutral of religious tones...
it seems it is your first time to conduct contest? Since you are new it is really important to get as much well known blogger to support your contest so that it will have more credibility. By the way you might want to check entrecards contest, it is different but you can pick up some ideas from them, here is my link:

been to KSA, worked and stayed there for 2.5 years. I got a chance to visit Jeddah and AL Khobar though.
I hope to help spread your contest, Insha-allah!
good wishes,
pete
Thank you Pete, we truly appreciate your suggestion.
The only prize we have is recognition. Im working on the criteria and hope to post it soon.
Yea I am working on a separate website. Thank you again.
I agree with Peter. Kenji, you have a great purpose here: recognizing expats' blogs. But honestly, you need some prize aside from the recognition.
I hope you can inform me if there are already changes in your contest and I am willing to plug it on my blog to give your contest more credibility.
Best wishes Kenji!
I really liked your concept...nice....
If u really want more people to come to your site... i can give u an advice, pls try to keep same colour fonts, and of the same size preferably. its straining my eyes, if any visitor wud come, he/she might not stay 4 long.... i hope it helps u :)
I appreciate all your comments as well as your suggestion. We are no perfect people. We make things as directed by what we believe to be right, true and beautiful. We thank you for your suggestions, and unsolicited advice. It just mean you care for us so much, and that we will always be grateful.
The contest progress, and moves on. It's gaining more exposure. If you want to sponsor this search project, please post a blog entry about it and you will automatically be included in the list of sponsor with banner. See more here

yup.. i posted it in my blog
I am going to post a blog entry about this search project. It was born when me and Mrs. Thoughtskoto was looking for some bloggers award and we notice no awards has been given to OFW or Expats bloggers. The Search Project was born out of the belief that even without monetary price, a mere recognition will make a blogger happy, as well as the instant fame which may come along with the winning. But how would you give a prize or instant fame the like of JIM PAREDES or Lea Salonga who had been nominated by people because their blogs inspire Filipino's wherever they are? How can you expect someone like me who earns just enough to buy my baby diapers, wipes and milk and pays for her education plan to give a prize like a hundred dollars or a 10,000 pesos to the winners?
But I am still hoping, one day before the deadline, 30 December 2008, Bill Gates, Manny Pacquiao, or Henry Sy or maybe King Abdullah will donate to the cause.
maybe. maybe not. but the joy to a blogger who will be recognize for inspiring Filipino's and for being one of the top 10 Expats or OFW blogs is enough to carry on the excitement and the enthusiasm to blog...blog...blog...
this is such a very good idea..recognizing expats..keep up the good work..Kenji and Sheila..nice meeting you here ...
just finishes putting the banner in my 4 blogs...hope to see my name in the nominees..thanks

i mean finished..have a nice weekend ahead!!
Forgive the honesty, but I'm sure you're not the first blogger to have concocted some contest to boost site traffic. That's disheartening. But if such is not your intent, why don't you just review expat blogs and cite them for whatever ideal that you find commendable. That way, you direct traffic TO them, and not to you.
Hi anonymous, thanks for your comment. I really don't know what's with the site traffic, but if we are getting few dollars from the ads it doesn't go to our pocket, it is donated to the charity linked in our sidebar. If there is any compensation we get from blogging that's the friendship of the many wonderful people around the world.
I guess we are already driving traffic at each nominees site having their blog linked in the polling widget. In this way, voters can visit each nominees site, not just one nominee that they know. This way they have the chance to visit and review all sites, and know more expat bloggers too.
the reason why i am still undecided and hesitant to join is that... my entries are mostly rants... hehehe...
i decided to join your contest na rin po hehehe... i have posted the banner in my site.
I put also the banner in my blog. I will advertise this contest in my blog...My email add: amyenson@yahoo.com
